In Western Australia, children can start their education in kindergarten, however compulsory schooling starts the following year in Pre-primary.
Willetton Primary School is a designated local-intake school and, as such, only accepts students who reside within our intake area (please click here to see our boundaries). While we may accept out-of-area enrolments at the kindergarten level if places are available, these students may not be able to continue into our Pre-primary program the following year. Due to significant enrolment pressure, the school may exercise its authority under the School Education Act 1999 to cancel an enrolment obtained through false or misleading information, or if a parent/guardian fails to notify the school of a change in the student's residential address.
All children who have a usual place of residence within our intake area, are automatically accepted for enrolment at Willetton Primary School.
If you and your family have recently arrived in Western Australia, it is recommended that you wait until you are settled with a permanent address before you apply as you need to include a proof of address in your application.
Application for enrolment
Application for enrolment forms for Pre-primary to Year 6 can be submitted at any time. Editable PDF forms can be completed electronically or printed and completed by hand. Once completed, application for enrolment forms may be emailed to Willetton.PS@Education.wa.edu.au.
Please note that the following documents are required in addition to the Application for Enrolment Form:
- Vaccination records – Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement, no more than two months old
- A copy of your child’s Birth Certificate
- A copy of your current rates bill if owner occupied OR a copy of your Rental Agreement with a minimum of 6 months Tenancy
- Latest electricity account
PLUS one of the following:
- Latest gas/water/internet bill
- Driver’s license
- Other supporting document bearing name and address

Enrolment
If your application is successful, you will then be asked to complete a Student Enrolment Form from school. This form is included in a separate package of information that will be emailed to you by our school enrolment officer.
It is essential that all of the information on these forms are accurate and current. All medical information needs to be correct at time of enrolment to enable the school to create an emergency response plan if one is required.

Collection Notice for Enrolment
From the 1st of July 2026, schools are required to provide the Collection Notice for Enrolment with all new enrolments. This is an explanation for parents and the community on why we collect the information, how we use it and who it may be shared with. This is a requirement under the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024.
